Following the advice of our Airbnb host, we go at the nearest beaches from the house: Kipiadi and its neighbor to the east of the island (a few kilometers south of Loggos), two beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters and almost nobody.
Pebbles, dense vegetation, a beautiful panorama, few people and transparent water: it is paradise!
Then we go to Erimitis beach. After a long way down by foot, we discover a dazzling white cliff falling on a white pebble beach and turquoise sea. It is super different from the first beach we went to but as amazing.
Another marvel of the southwest side of the island is TRIPITOS ARCH! It is an arch overlooking a crystal clear and amazing sea with all shades of blue.
To reach Tripitos Arch, there is a small path from Ozias but it is not very well indicated. By car, you must first go to the village of Ozias then head to the west coast, the GPS coordinates are: 39.182751,20.185422
The small villages of Gaios, Loggos and Lakka are super cute, quaint and perfect for a typical dinner or enjoy a drink.
Antipaxos can be done in one day doing an excursion from Paxos (Gaios – 12 euros round trip). There are departures regularly starting from 10am. It is better to leave as soon as possible because big boats come from Corfou and it is better without.
The boat can drop you in two different beaches: Vrika or Voutoumi, both incredible.
Tips! To avoid the crowd in the 2 main beaches, go to Mesovirka beach, also paradise but nobody there! A path from Voutoumi to Vrika go through it.
FROM CORFOU TO PAXOS
The company Kamelia Lines makes the connection Corfu-Paxos for 20 euros (37 return) in 1h / 1h30.
The agency Kamelia Lines in Corfu is at the new port (about 10 min walk from the city center)
FROM PAXOS TO ANTIPAXOS
It is possible to camp on Antipaxos and to go just for a day. From the port of Gaïos (Paxos), several boats go to Antipaxos for 12 euros/ person.
It is also possible to rent a small boat without license to get there.
To discover all the nice spot of Paxos, it is better to rent a car. Some buses cross the island but only going from villages to villages. When renting a car you must specify where you’ll arrive on the island and the agency leaves the car available at the requested spot. For example directly to the port, super convenient!
The tour of Paxos is also feasible by boat without license and it is not too expensive (about 80 euros a day).
WHERE TO SLEEP?
In Paxos prices are quite high but we could find a super nice airbnb by Donatella. It was a nice little stone house perfect for some days between friends.
THE PERFECT DAY IN PAXOS…
Going around the island at ‘driving’ a boat is magical! We discover by the sea the inaccessible beaches, the imposing cliffs, the sea caves and an incredible arch. The best day!
